I’ve been given a lot of opportunities over the years and have found myself in a position that enables me to be involved in company strategy while managing a dynamic department. The security, flexibility and my team are the reasons I continue to stay.
My department prides itself on personality -- we try to have fun regardless of how stressful or challenging the work becomes. Each job offers a unique set of challenges, so there are always new and different happenings to keep me on my toes. It’s exciting to be involved with a growing company and see all the changes within, and to see my role change.
I actually began working in our Call Center conducting phone surveys. One month later, I was offered a paid internship in our IS department. It was in 1999 that I was presented with an offer of full-time employment here as a programmer. From there, I progressed from a Senior Programmer to my current position.
On a daily basis I arrive to the office and check my long list of emails. Then I go into full gear to work towards steering the programming needs of our existing projects. Along the way, I attend several meetings, help other programmers with their projects, then get to go home. The next day. I get to repeat it again.
